I am Ali Aghajanian, a Ph.D. holder in Civil Engineering from UC, Spain, with research experience at Virginia Tech (USA) and LADICIM Lab (Spain). My current research focuses on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in concrete technology, as well as the integration of Digital Twin and Building Information Modeling (BIM) in construction technology. I serve as a lecturer at both the Sharif University of Technology and the University of Tehran (International Campus).

My academic and professional expertise lies in Textile Reinforced Concrete (TRC), Alkali Activated Slag Cement (AASC), cement-free concrete, geopolymer concrete research, fiber-reinforced concrete, and eco-friendly concrete mix design. I specialize in optimizing the compressive strength of AASC, workability of TRC mixes, and developing slag-based binder systems with nano additives. My focus is on low-carbon building materials and the concrete sustainability index.
I have been involved as a Project Manager and Structural Consultant for large-scale projects including the Toranj Coastal Hotel, Melina Residential Complex, and the Zomorod Commercial Center. I am also actively engaged in construction materials innovation, TRC vs steel reinforcement studies, and the implementation of AI in Civil Engineering, including wireless vehicle charging and smart city infrastructure.
As a BIM Manager, I lead workflows in 4D and 5D BIM simulations, clash detection, BIM-based cost estimation, IFC standards, and OpenBIM approaches. I develop BIM Execution Plans (BEP), support WBS integration, ensure Level of Development (LOD) and Level of Accuracy (LOA), and align with Employer's Information Requirements (EIR). I train teams in Revit and BIM curriculum for design coordination and construction scheduling.
As a researcher and academic, I have authored several scientific journal articles (ISI & Q1) and actively serve as a reviewer for top journals. I am on the editorial board of the Journal of Building Engineering (JBE) and the American Journal of Applied Scientific Research.
In addition to my academic background, I possess strong skills in software development and programming. I have consistently leveraged every opportunity to gain hands-on experience, aiming to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet the needs of clients and collaborators worldwide.
